Radio Ratings Survey 6: Your Quick Guide To What Happened

The latest radio results have just landed on desks. Some of the highlights from Survey 6 show: WFSM’s Jonesy & Amanda stay ahead of Kyle & Jackie O in Sydney brekkie radio, Hamish & Andy boost numerous market shares, and NOVA, ABC and Alan Jones maintain high stance.

Below are the highlights from each market for your daily perusal.

Sydney

Breakfast Radio

Top three unchanged since the previous survey.

First: 2GB with Alan Jones at 15.1 per cent share. Down from 17.1 per cent last survey.

Second: ABC702 with 10.3 per cent. Up 1.2 per cent.

Third: Australian Radio Network (ARN) WSFM101.7 with Jonesy & Amanda. Up 0.1 per cent to 8.5 per cent this survey.

Other news: ARN’s KIIS1065 with Kyle & Jackie O increased 0.5 per cent this survey to be in fourth place, with 8.3 per cent this survey. Dan & Maz from Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) 2DayFM hit 1041 dropped 0.8 per cent to 3.1 per cent.

 

Drive Radio

Top three remain the same, but ABC overtakes NOVA and 2GB for first place, being third in survey 5.

First: ABC702 at 10.7 per cent – up 2.5 per cent

Second: 2GB at 10.1 per cent – down 0.5 per cent

Third: NOVA969.9 with Kate, Tim & Marty at 9.5 per cent – down 0.1 per cent

Other news: Hamish & Andy on Hit 104.1 increased 0.3 per cent to 6.8 per cent. KIIS Hugesy & Kate increased by 1.0 per cent to 8.3 per cent. Smoothfm dropped 0.1 per cent to 8.1.

 

Melbourne

Breakfast Radio

The top three remained the same since the last survey.

First: 3AW with Ross & John at 18.4 per cent. Up 1.9 per cent from the last survey.

Second: ABC774 at 13.6 per cent. Up 0.5 per cent.

Third: SCA’s Triple M at 8.9 per cent. Down 0.4 per cent.

Other news: NOVA 100 (now at 6.4) and smooth FM (at 6.2) increased 1.2 and 1.0 per cent respectively. SCA’s FOXFM with Fif & Dave increased 0.2 per cent to 7.5 per cent this survey.

Drive

First and second remained the same. Third place has switched up since the last survey.

First: SCA’s FOXFM with Hamish & Andy at 12.8 per cent. Up 2.5 per cent.

Second: 3AW with Tom Elliot at 10.1 per cent. Up 0.4 per cent from last survey.

Third: NOVA 100 with Kate, Tim & Marty at 9.5 per cent. Up 0.8 per cent. Previous third place was KIIS’s Hughesy & Kate.

Other news: Hughesy & Kate dropped 1.7 per cent to 7.9. ABC774 dropped 0.7 per cent to 8.4.

 

Brisbane

Breakfast Radio

Top three remain the same, but have switched positions.

First: ABC612 at 14.0 per cent. Up 1.3 per cent. First was previously NOVA106.9

Second: ARN’s 97.3FM with Robin, Terry & Bob at 12.5 per cent. Down 0.5 per cent. Unchanged position since last survey.

Third: NOVA106.9 with Ash, Kip & Luttsy at 11.4 per cent. Down 2.1 per cent. Third was previously ABC612.

Other news: SCA’s Triple M increased 0.6 per cent to 9.7 per cent (now in fourth place). SCA’s HIT105.3 increased 1.7 per cent to 9.4 per cent, now fifth place.

 

Drive

Hamish & Andy have found a spot in the top three, kicking out Triple J who were in third place last survey.

First: KIIS 97.3FM with Hughesy & Kate at 13.5. Down 1.1 per cent.

Second: HIT105.3 with Hamish & Andy at 13.0 per cent. Up 2.9 per cent. These guys weren’t in the top three the last survey.

Third: NOVA106.9 with Kate, Tim & Marty with 12.4 per cent. Down 3.5 per cent. NOVA was previously first in survey 5.

 

Adelaide

Breakfast Radio

MIX102.3 has jumped up to first place from second. ABC drops to second.

First: ARN’s MIX102.3 with Jodie & Soda at 15.3 per cent. Up 1.7 per cent.

Second: ABC891 at 13.5 per cent. Down 0.6 per cent and into second place now.

Third: FIVAaa at 13.2 per cent. Down 0.2 per cent.

 

Drive Radio

NOVA has dropped from first to tie for seocnd place. Hughesy & Kate jump to first place from second.

First: ARN’s MIX102.3 with Hughesy & Kate at 15.9 per cent. Up 1.5 per cent from previous survey.

Second: NOVA919 with Kate, Tim & Marty AND FIVEaa at 12.7 per cent. NOVA is down 2.4 per cent. FIVAaa is up 1.1 per cent.

Third: SCA’s HIT107 with Hamish & Andy at 11.3 per cent. Up 1.7 per cent.

 

Perth

Breakfast Radio

ABC radio dropped down to third from first place. NOVA has jumped from third place to first.

First: NOVA93.7 with Nathan, Nat & Shaun at 13.5 per cent. Up 1.5 per cent from the previous survey.

Second: SCA’s MIX94.5  with Clairsy, Shane & Kymba at 13.2. Unchanged percentage.

Third: ABC720 at 12.5 per cent. Down 1.8 per cent. Previously first place in survey 5.

 

Drive Radio

NOVA maintains first place, with Hamish & Andy snagging second place from MIX’s Lisa & Pete.

First: NOVA93.7 with Kate, Tim & Marty at 16.3 per cent. Up 0.8 per cent.

Second: SCA’s HIT92.9 with Hamish & Andy at 15.4 per cent. Up 2.6 per cent.

Third: SCA’s MIX94.5 at 14.6 per cent. Up 0.5 per cent from previous survey.
