Piers Morgan appeared on Conservative Tv Host Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show to defend his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

After Meghan Markle told Oprah Winfrey that palace life had made her feel almost suicidal, Morgan said he didn’t believe her. The episode that the comments were made on became the most complained-about show in British TV history, having now received more than 57,000 complaints.

Morgan then left his job on Good Morning Britain after storming offset when he was confronted about his views by co-host Alex Beresford.

In his first interview since leaving the show, Morgan joined conservative American TV host Tucker Carlson on his Monday night Fox News show.

Morgan stood by his initial comments.

“I don’t believe what they were saying, in particular, I don’t believe what Meghan Markle said,” he told Carson.

He then claimed he was “damned for speaking [his] mind” and “wasn’t allowed to have an opinion.”

Morgan was offended by the interview, describing it to Carson as “the most extraordinarily disingenuous smear, hit job, on the Royal family, on the Queen, on the monarchy, and frankly on Britain.”

Finally, he defended his decision to storm off stage as “freedom of speech”, saying “I was hired by ITV to do the morning show because they were struggling with the ratings, they wanted me to shake things up.”

He told Carlson that he would not be “bullied by the woke brigade into apologising.”

For April Fool’s Day, Morgan tweeted that he had been rehired by ITV, the network that produced Good Morning Britain.
