Penis-Shaped Vegan Sausages Become Instant Social Media Smash

A woman has apparently been left traumatised after encountering a pack of vegan sausages in her supermarket chiller with an uncanny resemblance to male genitalia.

The pack of Beyond Meat Italian-styled snags was spotted – and photographed – by American woman Naz Riahi who was out shopping for a healthy evening meal at her local Wegmans grocery store.

Riahi later tweeting, “I will never be able to unsee what I saw at @Wegmans today. No more @BeyondMeat. Take note!”

Some 14,000 people have since viewed Riahi’s post with many seeing the funny side of the droopy sausages.

“That sausage does not seem excited to see you,” one person noted.

“In all fairness, I would think the display case IS rather chilly…” another wrote.

While another added:  “Thank you for what has been the biggest, longest, tears-out-of-my-eyes laugh in at least five months.”

Others suggested that laying the packet flat may be a better display method.

“Vegan sausages… that was not my first thought when I saw them,” another tweeted.

Beyond Meat also sells its plant-based products in Australia via the IGA chain.

One Queensland woman asking: “Just wondering if anyone has tried these vegan sausages from IGA? Opinions please? Are they nice?”

To which a wag replied: “They’re willy nice.”

Riahi responded: “It was just in an innocent grocery run, If I had to see it everyone else did too!”
