Experienced motoring executive George Cornwell has joined marketing agency AdTorque Edge as a shareholder and executive director.
Cornwell moves from Australia’s largest automotive lender, Toyota Financial Services, where he was general manager.
He was responsible for a number of portfolios including marketing, strategy, loyalty and new product development.
Before joining TFS in Australia, he managed sales and marketing for TFS in New Zealand, where he also held roles for Nissan NZ as national fleet manager and Esanda as Northern Territory manager.
AdTorque Edge is a leading full-service agency specialising in the automotive lifestyle and leisure industries, operating in five countries with more than 850 clients.
It was formed in 2017 through the merger of motoring industry leader AdTorque Strategic Services (a joint venture with John Singleton Advertising) and Edge Online Consulting.
Cornwell said: “It’s a very different experience moving from client to agency side.
“But I was really attracted by the capability AdTorque Edge brings to dealers and OEMs in what these days is a pretty complex marketing environment.
“The team is a great balance of technology/creative specialists and people from the retail environment who know what it takes to sell cars.”
AdTorque Edge executive chairman, John O’Neill, said he and the team is excited to have someone of George’s industry experience join our team at a time when it is going through a major growth spurt in regards to product offerings and staff.
Cornwell said he was looking forward to launching some exciting new products at the upcoming Australian Automotive Dealer Association expo in Melbourne from September 9 to 11.
Cornwell will work closely with AdTorque Edge’s existing dealer and OEM customers across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, identifying emerging trends and positioning their businesses for sustainable growth and success.
