Monday TV Wrap: Jimmy Barnes Doco Can’t Hold Off The All-Conquering Block

Channel Seven’s documentary Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy debuted to 733,000 viewers last night but it still failed to dent The Block’s popularity which did 1.166 million last night.

Nine won Monday by the tightest of margins, holding off rival Seven 31.3 per cent to 30.2 per cent, respectively. Ten had 17.1 per cent of the audience share, the ABC took home 14.9 per cent and SBS had to settle for 6.5 per cent.

Barnsey aside, Seven’s other highlights were its 6pm news (1.023 million), Motorbike Cops (570,000), Highway Patrol (499,000 and The Chase (361,000).

Nine’s news did 987,000 and ACA had 920,000. Doctor Doctor (565,000) and Hot Seat (320,000) the network’s other highlights.

For Ten, Have You Been Paying Attention? was markedly down with 580,000. Presumably its viewers were more interested in Barnsey over on Seven. Survivor (645,000) and The Project (492,000) Ten’s other highlights.

The ABC’s night of current affairs ran thus: 7pm news (677,000), 7.30 (558,000), Australian Story (503,000), Four Corners (461,000), Media Watch (456,000), while Q&A (278,000) was rather disappointing.

Over at SBS, it sent departing MD Michael Ebeid out with Britain’s Most Historic Towns that mustered 292,000.
