Seven’s House Rules continues to enjoy an Indian summer when it comes to ratings, hitting a season high of 953,000 last night.

The home reno show was wallowing in the 600,000s only a month or so ago, so its been a dramatic and surprising turnaround in terms of eyeballs.

Meanwhile, ABC’s Monday night talkfest Q&A continues to struggle, dropping below 400,000 last night. For a show that’s apparently the pulse of the nation’s mood, it posted a rather anaemic 399,000 last night.

Seven won Monday night with 29.8 per cent audience share. Nine was second with 24.9 per cent, Ten grabbed third with 21.5 per cent, the ABC had 16.9 per cent and SBS could only muster 6.9 per cent.

House Rules aside, Seven’s other standouts was its 6pm news bulletin (1.13 million), Home And Away (716,000) and The Chase (716,000). Sadly, its First Dates can’t find much viewer love, it managed only 449,000 last night.

For Nine, its 6pm news pulled 1.06 million, followed by ACA (847,000), Hot Seat (591,000) and Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation (578,000).

The MasterChef (889,000)/Have You Been Paying Attention?(864,000) combo did the business for Ten, while The Project had a neat 600,000.

Over at the ABC, its night of current affairs went thus: ABC News (717,000), Back Roads (629,000), 7:30 (597,000), Four Corners (523,000), Media Watch (503,000), Q&A (399,000) and Think Tank (248,000).

SBS’s best was The Great Fire of London which had a lukewarm 202,000. The Uruguay-Russia World Cup match could only muster 154,000.
