Coca-Cola is infinitely aware that its fabled syrupy brown beverage isn’t that good for you, and, thus, has spent the best part of the last four decades marketing its sugar-free alternatives without actually admitting the original version is one, big, sugar-ladened diabetes bomb.
More recently, the tact for the brand has been to get the allegedly healthier variants – Diet and Zero Sugar – to taste as close to the original formula or die trying to convince consumers otherwise.
Enter a new campaign that’s running in the US and Canada and planned for a global rollout that again plays on the idea that Zero Sugar tastes so good, you won’t realise you’re drinking Zero Sugar.
The two ad’s are the work of creative agency Mercado McCann and ask is this “The Best Coke Ever?”
Clearly aimed at a younger Ys and Zs audience, if anything, the duo of spots is certainly a vastly different approach for the brand that typically relies on attractive models only moments away from having intercourse with one another.
