Melbourne brewery Moon Dog Brewing clearly expects us all to be in self-isolation for a very long time judging by its latest competition that will award the person (B&T’s assuming it’s open to women, too) who grows the best mullet during lockdown with a year’s supply of its beer.
And, simply by entering, you’re a winner too. The brewer saying anyone who attempts the infamous 80’s hairdo will be awarded a free four-pack of the brewery’s Jean-Strawb Van Damme.
The competition is in conjunction with Melbourne barber shop Beef Barbers who, apparently, are experts in delivering a hairstyle better known as “business at the front, party down the back”.
The steps are simple: take a photo or video of the before and after job, share it to Instagram and tag @moondogbrewing and @beefsbarbers.
However, it’s not all for larks. The competition organisers have added it’s also raising money for charity.
Beef Barber owner Shaun Ash said: “Mullets are certainly back on trend, with thanks to a charity that we work closely with ‘Mullets for the Kids’ raising much-needed for The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
“Right now is a perfect time for people to experiment with their hair as people aren’t getting out and about but we’ll be here to fix the iso-mullet-fuckups on the other side,” Ash added.
