Popular YouTuber Jordan Shanks – also known as friendlyjordies – is being investigated by police over a harassment claim.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, which yesterday published a frontpage story on the comedian, police are investigating the allegation, after an unnamed journalist filed a complaint against Shanks for attending his home.
Friendlyjordies shared an image of himself outside of the residence, along with the text: “Nothing better than a simple walk at night. [Retweet] if you agree.”
The image did not identify who lived there.
According to the Herald, the journalist provided police with the following statement: “The attention I have received from Jordan Shanks has escalated to the point of harassment”.
Shanks, who amassed 450,000 subscribers on YouTube, has been in the headlines recently for his coverage of the NSW government.
In June, NSW deputy premier and Nationals party leader John Barilaro accused the comedian of racism, after Shanks shared videos appearing to mock the accent of the politician, who is of Italian descent.
Shanks also recently filmed a video from within the holiday home of Barilaro, in which he accused the politician of corruption.
He also claimed he had sex in the house during the video.
