King Kyle has announced that he will be returning for The Australian Idol reboot.
Sandilands, rose to fame when he judged from 2005-2009, and now he is in the final stages of talks with Seven to resign and head back to our television screens. It’s almost as exciting as when he announced Trial By Kyle.
Sandilands spilled the tea on his radio show, saying: “I think they’re bringing the contract this week. I said I’ll only sign it on the radio show, so all the big head honchos have to march into the studio with the contract. I’ll sign it live on-air,” Sandilands claimed.
Sandilands went on to confirm that Osher Ginsberg won’t be returning as his too busy hosting shows for 10, and Marcia Hines won’t be returning because she’ll be touring.
Sandilands also revealed that he was involved in deciding who would be joining him on the judge’s panel.
New.com.au reported that He said: “They can’t sign on someone else unless I sign off on it … I’m not going to be doing the show with a bunch of knobs.
“I’ve got a long list of knobs I won’t work with. I’d like at least one other Australian, and I would love a big name from the US and a big name UK, but it all depends. Everyone’s touring around. But there’s a lot of big stars interested.”
Sandilands also confirmed that he’d be bringing his unique viewpoint to the show. He said: “I like The Voice, but I won’t be one of them wishy-washy Voice judges that say, ‘No matter how disgusting you are to look at, you’ve got a great voice.’ I’m not interested in that sh*t. I can only be myself.”
Sandilands eventually admitted he hadn’t, “signed off on it yet!” But, he’d, “verbally agreed.”
Still, if King Kyle does sign on the dotted line, that is a big grab for Seven.
