The City of Sydney is giving organisers and promoters the opportunity to draw in more attendees than ever to their Sydney events, and it’s all thanks to a little city events secret.

What’s On, a top-ranked and trusted event site for Sydney, is expanding its reach and calling for more listings for local events, big and small.

Since kicking off 10 years ago, What’s On has publicised events taking place in the City of Sydney local government area, free of charge and with stacks of exposure. It’s relaunch in mid-2015 also saw the service provide a fully optimised site for mobile, desktop and tablet.

There are now over two million visits annually and 35,000 subscribers to the weekly email showcasing top events.

On top of that, What’s On now includes details of events in suburbs within a 7.5km radius of the city area, in response to increasing demand from site users.

Selected from around 13,000 entries from 65 countries, the site was recently named as an official honouree in the 20th Annual Webby Awards in the Web: Government & Civil Innovation category. It was also named as a finalist in the 2015 Desktop Create Design Awards.

What’s On offers a diverse overview of what’s happening in Sydney, with everything from big ticket events to small community activities, all listed directly by event organisers. It is free for event organisers to create an account, to load and to promote events, 365 days a year.
