Independent brewery Hawke’s Brewing Co. has appointed boutique agency Rocket Comms to lead its public relations efforts following a competitive pitch process.

The partnership will continue to build on Hawke’s Brewing Co.’s brand and increase focus on the brewery venue and Lucky Prawn eatery through media partnerships, earned media placements, special events, influencers, and social media amplification.

“Engaging with a PR agency aligns with our strategic business goals. In a short period of time, Rocket Comms has already enabled us to further amplify our brand stories, reach new audiences and reinforce Hawke’s quality brewing credentials as well as the exceptional hospitality offering at the Bob Hawke’ Beer and Leisure Centre, with both trade and consumer communities. With a shared vision and values, we are excited to continue working with Rocket Comms following an impressive start to the year across our brand offerings,” said Hawke’s Brewing Co.’s head of marketing, Kate Sorensen.

Rachel Robertson, Rocket Comms Director & Founder, is looking forward to continuing this exciting partnership with Hawke’s. “Hawke’s is an iconic and innovative brewery producing award-winning beers as well as offering a ‘one of a kind’ brewery venue experience along with their delicious ‘Lucky Prawn’ restaurant – prawn toast anyone?

“The internal team are amazing collaborators and creative thinkers, and we look forward to expanding the reach of the Hawke’s brand into a truly national brand, creating awareness about their quality beer portfolio, as well as further cementing the brewery venue as a ‘must do’ in NSW,” she said.

Since pouring their first schooner in April 2017, the Hawke’s Brewing Co. team has established its popular range of brews and venue as a beacon of Australiana and nostalgia while also providing a quality drinking experience. Hawke’s added Chinese-Australian bistro “The Lucky Prawn” to its brewery in 2022, resulting in them winning awards for ‘Venue of the Year’ from both Time Out and Beer & Brewer.

Bob Hawke passed away in 2019, but his legacy continues through the Hawke’s Brewing Co. brand and its ongoing partnership with Landcare Australia, the environmental charity he helped establish. Together, they have raised over $450,000 for projects across the country.

Rocket Comms specialises in food and beverage, pop culture and gaming and is currently working with Peanuts, PAX Australia, Care Bears, Nanoleaf & more. The agency has also worked with the GABS Festival, Stomping Ground, Athletic Brewing Co., Larrikin Gin, Big Drop Brewing Co. and Ballistic Brewing.
