Generation Z is touted as the woke generations, yet new research has revealed that Gen Z men might not be quite as woke with their female counterparts.
A new study by Hope Not Hate, a UK-based advocacy group that campaigns against extremism, revealed around fifty per cent of Gen Z men believe “feminism has gone too far and it makes it harder for men to succeed.”
According to the report, which surveyed more than 2,000 young people between the ages of 16 and 24 on a diverse range of topics, young men are feeling emasculated in an era of changing social norms, with anti-feminism appealing to half of Gen Z males.
It revealed overall, young people have less positive attitudes of feminists, and many young men reject feminism as an ideology that displaces men.
Interestingly, however, it’s not just men who think feminism has gone too far.
Overall, more Gen Zs agreed that feminism had gone too far (36 per cent said it had, while 35 per cent disagreed), which included 23 per cent of women surveyed.
