Another day, another Bachelorette rumour.

Yesterday, even B&T reported that none other than Rebel Wilson was a possible candidate to front this year’s series.

As brilliant an idea as it was, Wilson joked she’d ony do it for a $20 million appearance fee.

Now venerable gossip magazine New Idea is reporting that Bachelorette producers are considering Tessa Boersma as a possible candidate.

The 27-year-old Boersma is currently appearing on this year’s series of MasterChef and was runner-up on the 2019 series.

B&T has contacted 10 for comment but had not received a reply at the time of publication.

A New Zealand-born Queenslander, Boersma would also continue a long line of blonde Bachelorettes and 10’s focus on using contestants who already have a public profile.

According to reports in New Idea, 10 has offered a contract to Boersma to make the switch from chef’s whites to ballgowns.

However, there could be one sticking point for Boersma making the switch, The Daily Mail is reporting that Boersma is already in a long and committed relationship with a chap by the name of Eliot Nelson.

That said, Boersma wouldn’t be the first Bachelor/Bachelorette contestant to put a relationship on hold to chase reality TV’s fame and money.

Among a string of contestants that apparently had a partner before venturing onto the dating show included last year’s Bacehelor, Matt Agnew, who wasn’t, in fact, a bachelor at all and reportedly had a girlfriend waiting in the wings.
