Fairfax Revenues Plummet Six Per Cent

Fairfax Media’s overall revenue across its businesses for the 17 weeks to April 23 is six per cent lower than a year ago, AAP has reported.

The media company said in a trading up date this morning that revenue for its real estate listing business Domain was up by 10 per cent, while total digital business revenue was up some 18 per cent.

Fairfax news operations have continued to be in the red, with revenue for both Metro Media and Australian Community Media down 11 per cent.

The news follows on from yesterday’s announcement that the company would shed 125 editorial staff from its major mastheads, prompting a seven-day strike by staff.
