Dos Equis Ditches ‘Most Interesting Man’ In New Work From Droga5

When your brand invents possibly the best advertising campaign ever, you’re always going to be judged on your previous work.

And that’s exactly the case for Mexican beer brand Dos Equis and it’s world famous ‘Most Interesting Man In The World’ ads.

Sadly, the brand ditched the slogan along with the actor, Jonathan Goldsmith, who played the role in 2016.

In 2017, Dos Equis changed agencies in the US from Havas to Droga5 and now the latter has unveiled its first work for the brand titled “interesante”.

Dos Equis brand director Quinn Kilbury said of the Most Interesting Man: “He’s not dead; we’re intentionally not killing him, but we need to focus on the brand and getting its benefits out to the world, versus a focus on The Man.”

Droga5’s latest instalment certainly plays for laughs, but sadly it feels like a poor man’s version of the previous genius. That said, it’s still not bad. Check it out below:
