Dentsu Names Adland Veteran Ben Shepherd As Chief Investment Officer Of Its Media Portfolio

dentsu International has announced the appointment of Ben Shepherd as chief investment officer of dentsu ANZ’s media portfolio, supporting the Carat, iProspect and dentsu X brands and reporting into CEO Danny Bass.

Shepherd brings almost two decades experience in digital media to dentsu, most recently as the expert vice president at Bain & Company, leading the FRWD marketing and customer experience practice across Australia and New Zealand. Shepherd has also worked for the likes of OMD Australia, CHE Proximity and PwC Australia.

Bass commented: “Ben’s ability to cut through and make the complicated simple makes him the perfect choice to join our business.

“With the media landscape changing rapidly, and clients looking for simplicity, Ben will be able to identify and generate value across all media opportunities, helping our clients navigate the never before and grow.”

Shepherd said: “I am beyond excited to be joining dentsu. As clients navigate an increasingly complicated media landscape, The opportunity to become a central part of a curious and capable team delivering innovation, opportunity and effective results for our clients and partners across the entire media ecosystem is.one I am grateful to be a part of.”

Melanie McDonald, who is currently general manager of investment for the dentsu media group has also been promoted to chief commercial officer. McDonald has made a significant contribution to dentsu over her nearly 31 years with the business and is looking forward to taking on new responsibilities.

Shepherd will be joining the business from January 16.
