Have A Great Regional Media Campaign From The Last Year? This Is Your One Shot To Shine With Boomtown And B&T

For the second year in a row, B&T is absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Boomtown for the Best Regional Media Campaign Award at the 2021 B&T Awards.

It is Australia’s only award celebrating the achievements of regional media campaigns and therefore your best chance to shine a spotlight on the inventive ways your brands have connected with regional consumers.

Winning the Regional Media Award is a unique opportunity. Those businesses which successfully tap into regional Australia are setting themselves up for the long haul because this is a market that’s on a very sharp trajectory.

As increasing numbers of city dwellers looked towards regional Australia this past year, and our attitudes to working from home become increasingly flexible, opportunities in the regional media sector have been thriving.

2021 has been a year like no other for regional media. As living and working opportunities outside of the cities boom, businesses have realised the increasing importance of building relationships with their regional customers.

Along with record migration to Boomtown, there’s also been the most significant boom in jobs on record and property in 15 years.

Throughout the last year, more agencies and brands have capitalised on a growing regional audience to create campaigns directly targeting regional consumers, with powerful results. This year’s B&T Awards are offering the only opportunity in Australia to celebrate those campaigns.

As Lucia Elliott, Boomtown’s marketing lead explained, “Unprecedented is a word that’s been used a lot in the past year and it’s lost some of its meaning. However, in the case of Boomtown, unprecedented is accurate. Regional Australia is booming as metro-movers relocate on a scale we’ve never seen before.”

“These metro migrants; many of whom are young urban professional families and digital nomads, are helping to create, as the Financial Review called it, a ‘spiral of success’ for regional Australia.”

This is the one and only opportunity you will get to show off and celebrate the creativity, diversity and compelling thinking that goes into regional media campaigns.

Now, if all of that is exciting you, the crucial next step is applying!

Regional campaigns which were active from 1st August 2020 to 31st July 2021 are eligible.

And, if you still need convincing, we also have some top entry tips.

Do:

  • Start-early! You have until July 19th to apply, so get onto it now.
  • Make sure to provide context, exploring the challenges of the brand, any ambitious targets and the degree of difficulty.
  • Tell an engaging story using concise, clear, language.
  • Quantify your results, and include any benchmarks or targets for context.
  • Proofread, and get as many sets of fresh eyes on your submissions as possible.

Don’t:

  • Overload your submission with meaningless jargon.
  • Don’t forget that judges will read up to 20 entries in one sitting.
  • And finally, don’t forget: this is your one shot to shine brightly in 2021, by taking the Boomtown crown. Don’t miss it!

This year’s B&T Awards will take place on Friday 12 November at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. And remember, Monday 19 July 2021 at 5pm AEST (on-time fee is $399 plus GST per entry).

Now is your chance – enter the Regional Media Campaign Award category today.
