The bad press keeps rolling in for Rio – and the Games are still 10 days away – with reports this morning that a Channel Nine TV crew has almost been robbed by a local transvestite wielding a brick.
AAP is reporting the crew had been in Rio for an hour when a transvestite attempted to steal camera gear by using a brick in a handbag.
Nine reporter, Christine Ahern, said her and the Nine team where at the famous Copacabana Beach when the incident occurred and where accompanied by a security team.
Ahern told 3AW this morning that “it all happened in a flash” with one of the security guards getting “clocked in the head” by the heavy handbag before he quickly ushered the crew into the safety of a hotel lobby.
Channel Seven are the official broadcaster of the Rio Olympics in Australia.
