Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins has launched OPSM’s Sports Vision for Clubs program. As the official eye care partner of Cricket Australia, OPSM has developed the program which is open to all grassroots cricket clubs throughout Australia.

Registrations are now open for the program, which gives twenty clubs the chance to receive $1,000 cash and $1,000 worth of equipment from OPSM, as well as having OPSM eye care professionals conduct eye screenings at their training or on game day.

The screenings are not only limited to players, but to coaches, volunteers, parents and club members.

Cummins, who made his return to the Australian side in the KFC T20 International series against South Africa, is encouraging Australian grassroots cricket clubs to get involved in the program.

“Grassroots clubs across Australia are put together by committed volunteers that work hard every summer to keep clubs and competitions running,” Cummins said.

“As players, it’s important we have our eye on the ball out in the field, and thanks to this great innovative program from OPSM, cricketers all around Australia can make sure their vision is as good as it can be as well.

“The OPSM Sports Vision for Clubs program gives all clubs around the country the chance to win fantastic funding and equipment, as well as eye screenings from OPSM staff.”

OPSM sponsorship manager, Will Sackville, said the program was a great opportunity for clubs to receive an important boost so they can continue reaching their full potential on and off the field.

“Local cricket clubs play a key role in the community, and it is great that OPSM can get on board and help out these fantastic clubs with cash and equipment,” Sackville said.

“After looking after the eyesight of the game’s best with our partnership with the Australian cricket team over the past three years, we know how important vision is for cricketers and we are thrilled to now be extending this support to grassroots cricket clubs throughout the country.”
