“Business At The Front, Par-Tay Down The Back!” Dunlop Volley Launches Mullet Collection In Possibly Most Aussie Thing Ever!

“Business At The Front, Par-Tay Down The Back!” Dunlop Volley Launches Mullet Collection In Possibly Most Aussie Thing Ever!

Australia’s gift to the fashion world, the venerable Dunlop Volley, has become even more quintessentially Aussie, the brand releasing a new edition that comes complete with a mullet hairdo on the back of the boot.

April Fool’s may have been last Friday, so B&T can indeed attest the hirsute footwear is truly bona fide.

Called the ‘Heritage High Mullet’, the hairy trainer is part of a collab the brand has done with the Black Dog Institute to raise awareness for men’s health.

The high tops retail for $84.95 and you can order your pair HERE, with all profits donated to the Black Dog Institute and its Mullets for Mental Health initiative.

Apparently the mullety hairpiece is detachable, making the shoes perfect for practically any occasion (arguably not job interviews, however).

Commenting on the fashion masterpiece, Tasman Cassim, Black Dog Institute senior manager of partnerships, said: “We have been so overwhelmed with the support for our Mullets for Mental Health fundraiser and now to have a Volley shoe with a mullet attached as a way of raising additional funds for mental health, we are absolutely stoked,’ she said.

Volley Australia GM John Szwede added: “Many young people work in spaces most affected by the pandemic: events, hospitality and retail, creating great struggles they hadn’t previously faced.

“Volley is honoured to have joined forces with Black Dog Institute to create this mullet masterpiece.

“We feel that partnering with the Institute, particularly for the Mullets for Mental Health campaign, allows us to instil our light-hearted, larrikin spirit into a difficult topic to broach, making it less daunting and easier to spark conversation.

“We want people to be interactive with their mullet Volleys – cut them, dye them, braid them and most importantly, wear them.

“We look forward to continuing this relationship with Black Dog Institute ongoing and we hope to create something truly unique and special for our audience and beyond,” he said.
