Burger King’s New Campaign Stars Non-Famous Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts & Michael Jordan

Burger King has come out with an out-of-home and digital campaign, starring, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts and Michael Jordan – just not the famous ones.

You see, they are just ordinary people with the same name!

No, Burger King didn’t pull together a giant marketing budget instead they are being much more creative. The campaign was created by Grabarz & Partner and it’s playing on the old chestnut of mistaken identity.

You’ll see a bunch of people with celebrity names eating Hungry Jacks!

The clever campaign was launched in Germany and was created to help promote it’s plant-based burger range and features the tagline, “Often mistaken for the original: the plant-based Whopper.”

Get it? you can mistake ordinary people for celebrities or vegetables for meat! It’s honestly pretty clever and charming,  there is something oddly funny about seeing a person called Michael Jordan that isn’t The Michael Jordan!

The campaign also features a social media competition asking people that share the same name as celebs to share their own mistake identity stories. Fingers crossed they are hilarious!!

So calling all the Brad Pitts of the world! The first 100 to respond will get a Burger King gift card, delicious!
