Broadsheet Media, Australia’s leading culture guide, announces several new appointments to its senior leadership team as it continues to scale and grow.

The new hires are across product, people and culture, and the commercial team. Cameron Ross joins the Broadsheet team as its first head of product, while Charlotte Miller joins as people and culture manager. Simone Crick is promoted to director of operations and Christina Voss to studio and strategy director. All positions will report to the general manager, Sian Whitaker, and are effective immediately.

Cameron Ross will lead the Broadsheet product team, which includes product managers, tech leads, designers, and developers, to deliver the implementation and execution of Broadsheet’s product-led growth strategy. Cameron will be responsible for building and leading a versatile product function that works alongside our editorial and commercial teams, to drive retention and growth. He has a wealth of product knowledge and over 18 years of experience, joining Broadsheet from Papercut, where he was the product lead. Before that, he was product head and led the creation of spacely.com.au at REA and held senior product roles at ANZ.

Incoming people & culture manager, Charlotte Miller most recently worked at the Essendon Football Club, where she was the general manager of the AFLW/VFLW team. Charlotte will work closely with the leadership team on the cultural and operational needs of the business, developing a best-practices workplace culture that reflects Broadsheet values. With a growing team of almost 80 people across Australia and New Zealand, investing in the people and culture function is more important than ever.

Whitaker said of the new appointments, “I am so proud of our incredible leadership team and am thrilled to expand and strengthen it with our new hires. I am excited that we have attracted such high-calibre talent with Cameron and Charlotte joining our business. We have spent the past 12 months redefining our product and strategy, and Cameron was the standout candidate throughout the recruitment process. He understood the purpose and value of Broadsheet and is passionate about driving local and international growth for the business. We have experienced significant growth over the past two years and our people continue to be the heart and strength of our business. Our priority will always be to foster and develop our talent. Charlotte has wonderful and diverse experience, and I couldn’t think of a stronger leader to steer our people strategy.”

The Broadsheet commercial leadership is also restructured with Crick elevated into the newly created role of director of operations after three years as studio director. Crick’s remit will span the business and work closely with Whitaker to set and operationalise the Broadsheet vision. This role will take ownership and deliver on key projects and initiatives while improving day-to-day operations. As Broadsheet continues to scale, this role is critical in ensuring all departments are aligned on priorities and moving in one direction.

With Crick transitioning into her new role, Voss will step up into a new role and expand her remit and take over the Broadsheet studio responsibility. Voss will take on the new position of studio & strategy director. She will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Broadsheet studio, including the campaign, creative and strategy divisions. Voss will oversee Broadsheet’s commercial partners’ output and identify new commercial opportunities for the business. She will continue to work closely with the national sales & partnerships director, Michila Macleod, to maintain and uphold creative excellence, client satisfaction, and commercial requirements.

Whitaker, said: “In addition to our new hires, I am equally proud of the pathways we have created for our leadership team to evolve their careers. Both Christina and Simone have been with Broadsheet for over five years and are impressive leaders respected in the business and the industry. Simone is one of the most valuable and disciplined leaders I have worked with.

“She deeply cares about Broadsheet and our people, and I am so excited to see her expand her remit across the entire business. Christina, is one of the industry’s most creative and results-driven commercial leaders and has led some of our most successful partnerships. She understands our brand intrinsically and realises our opportunities to grow our brand beyond our network. It makes absolute sense to bring the Broadsheet studio under her remit.”
