Independent publisher Broadsheet Media has appointed Michila Macleod (main photo) as the National Sales and Partnership Director to lead the national sales team while Christina Voss is on maternity leave.
Before joining the Broadsheet team, Michila held senior leadership roles at Bauer, Authentic Entertainment and BBC worldwide. Michila will be responsible for developing new and existing brand partnerships and delivering market-leading solutions for Broadsheet clients.
“As a passionate consumer of the Broadsheet brand for the past decade, I’m thrilled to be joining such an impressive, market-leading team. I look forward to working with our commercial partners to develop meaningful partnerships that create a genuine connection to our engaged audience,” Michila says.
Broadsheet is bolstering its sales and partnership team off the back of significant commercial growth following its successfully navigation of Covid. It emerged from the pandemic in the strongest shape the publisher has ever been in, with record-breaking traffic and revenue.
Claire Booth has been promoted to the newly created role of Group Sales and Partnerships Manager (GSM) to drive the Sydney market. Additionally, Wassilla Abboud has been promoted to Sales and Partnerships manager. This allows the publication to establish a foundation for new hires and continued growth in the NSW market.
In tandem with Broadsheet’s commercial success, the publication’s award-winning branded content studio, Broadsheet Studio, is also in a growth phase so it can continue to deliver best-in-market branded content for the company’s clients and partners.
Emily Barlow has been promoted to the newly created role of Group Campaign Manager, overseeing the Studio’s client services, while Hamish Swain has been appointed in a new position, Media Partnership Manager.
Working with Australia’s leading cultural partners has always been a cornerstone of Broadsheet’s offering and Swain will take this a step further by being a dedicated resource to support these partnerships. Hamish comes from an extensive background in partnerships management and ideation, most recently from Live Nation where he was Partnerships Marketing Manager, and prior to that, Campaign Ideas Manager at SCA.
