Independent agency Pivotus has been appointed as media buyer and strategist for cycling brand, Trek Bicycle Co Australia.
Both Trek and Pivotus pride themselves on challenging their industries and their own business’ status quo. Both are privately run operations with entrepreneurial approaches and the match made great sense.
“My Dad raced road bikes, our Ops Director is obsessed with the Tour de France and one of our key suppliers is mad for his road racing,” said Pivotus CEO Michael Petersen. “It was fun to turn our interests and passions into a strategy that could help Trek navigate their retail and wholesale models with differing geographies, target markets and stakeholders. Trek has a solid marketing model for us to build and execute a great media plan from.”
Trek marketing manager for AU&NZ, Natalie White said: “Our team had worked with Pivotus in a previous company, and they invited Bek and MP to take us through opportunities they saw for our growth. I was certainly impressed with how they understood our challenges.” Just like bikes, there’s plenty of media agencies out there, but just like Trek, the team at Pivotus were humble yet driven to find improvements and efficiencies in the pursuit of winning. I’m sure we’re going to do great things together.”
The Trek account will be led at Pivotus by senior account manager Bek Wymer and account director Ruther Chan who are currently recruiting to grow their team.
Pivotus has come out fast in 2023 with the appointment already as digital media buyers for both University College, Alphacrucis and car subscription business, Motopool. Both of these new clients are served by Account Director Adrienne Le Mura and Senior Account Manager Manon Gattolin.
The Trek appointment is effective from May 2023.
