Nine’s Tony Jones called out a woman for spreading her Nan’s ashes on the SCG turf after the Sydney-Geelong game.
The game featured Buddy Franklin’s 1000 goal and naturally, supporters went absolutely wild! However, one woman took the moment to empty her grandmother’s ashes on the field.
Jones then went on Sunday Footy Show and according to news.com.au, said: “Here are the ashes. I’m sorry, I love the spectacle but I don’t like that. Time and place, people.
“The ashes is beyond the pale. That’s ridiculous, I think we all agree on that.”
However, not everyone shared Jones’ opinion, Magda Szubanski took to Twitter and said: “I’m not a footy fanatic, but I am totally on board with this!”

While the spreading of the ashes may have brought on mixed reactions, at the very least the women’s Nan is resting at such an iconic venue.
