It’s been a big weekend at the Australian Open with Nick Kyrgios’ and Ash Barty’s games pulling massive numbers for Nine.
At its peak, Sunday night’s Ash Barty versus Alison Riske match saw a metro audience of 1.49m (2.1m combined) tune in, but that was almost nothing compared to Australia Day’s Nick Kyrgios versus Rafael Nadal game, which pulled a whopping 2.5m metro viewers at its peak (3.36m combined).
On average across night time tennis, Monday’s games saw 1.87m metro viewers tune in, while Sunday night on average saw 982,000 tune in.
On Monday night, Nine posted some massive audience shares. Across the five metro cities, Nine’s primary channel pulled 49.3 per cent audience share, while across all channels it dominated with 56.0 per cent.
On Sunday night, Nine’s primary channel across all people posted 35.0 per cent audience share, while across all channels it earned 42.0 per cent.
