Full service agency Apparent has expanded its dedicated media division with the appointment of Phoebe Chan as head of media and advertising operations and Jaclyn Ely as client partner, media.
Headed by former Naked Communications and Ikon executive John Halpin, Apparent’s media division has seen 88 per cent growth over the past 12 months across the agency’s integrated client base.
Chan joins from Publicis Media where she was most recently performance media operations director. Ely, previously general manager at WPP agency Sibling, will provide in-depth media knowledge within the client service team.
The independent Sydney agency, which has more than 120 employees, manages specialist media duties for a number of existing clients including Cricket Australia, Campari Group, VMWare and Chartered Accountants ANZ.
Apparent managing director Suzy Smiley said: “The ongoing growth of our media offering naturally compliments our customer experience expertise. Clients have been asking for integrated media planning and buying and we’re now able to deliver that with a dedicated and experienced media team.
“John is a highly experienced media specialist who’s worked at some of the most progressive agencies in the country and Phoebe and Jaclyn are both fantastic operators who understand how an integrated media offering needs to function.”
Halpin, who joined Apparent in 2019 to lead the new media offering, added: “We think of media as part of the customer experience, not a stand alone function. This changes everyone’s mindset and sees our media team working closely with creative to improve the effectiveness of our work throughout the campaign. The combination of Phoebe’s performance background and Jac’s integrated experience will only strengthen this approach as we scale.”
