Andrew Robb & Andrew Lancaster Join Ten Board

Network Ten has announced the appointments of Andrew Lancaster and Andrew Robb as non-executive directors of the company, effective immediately.

Lancaster’s appointment follows the retirement today of Brian Long from the Board.

Long has been a director of the company since July 2010. He has served as chairman from 2011 to 2012 and deputy chairman from 2012.

TEN’s chairman David Gordon said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew to the Board. Bruce Gordon’s company has been a major shareholder in TEN for many years and with the commencement of the new regional television affiliation agreement between TEN and WIN on 1 July 2016, our two companies have become even closer.

“Andrew is a very experienced and talented media executive, and I look forward to the contribution he will make to the TEN Board.”

Lancaster is CEO of WIN Corporation Pty Ltd and has more than 24 years’ experience in the media industry.

He is a director, and former chairman, of MediaHub Australia and a former director of Free TV Australia and WIN NBN Sales.

Lancaster said: “I’m excited at the opportunity to join the Board of TEN, a company that through fresh and innovative content, is showing strong audience and revenue growth. I’m looking forward to making a positive contribution to TEN and working with the Board to build on its ongoing success.”

Robb joins the TEN Board as the new nominee of Hanrine Investments.

David Gordon said: “Andrew Robb has had a distinguished career in the government sector and previous experience in marketing and the media. I am very pleased to welcome him to the TEN Board.

“Andrew will bring invaluable expertise and insights to the Board and to TEN, as TEN continues to deliver improved performance and results,” he said.

From 1990 to 1997, Mr Robb was the federal director and campaign director of the Liberal Party.

From 1997 to 2004, he worked for Kerry and James Packer, as well as advising major companies around Australia and overseas. During this time he also built an Australia-wide direct marketing technology company, was on the investment team for the Gorgan Gas Project, and was a Board Member of Sinclair Knight Merz, Australia’s largest consulting engineering company.

Robb was awarded the Office of the Order of Australia for his service to agriculture, politics and the community. Hewas elected to the Federal seat of Goldstein in October 2004, holding positions as Chairman of the Government’s Workplace Relations Taskforce, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs and then Minister for Vocational and Further Education.

In Opposition, he held positions as Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Climate Change, Chairman of the Coalition Policy Development Committee and Shadow Minister for Finance, Deregulation and Debt Reduction.

Robb was appointed to the Cabinet as Minister for Trade and Investment in 2013, subsequently negotiating Free Trade Agreements with South Korea, Japan and China, as well as the 12 country Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade agreement and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Singapore. Additionally he conducted
85 investment roundtables in 28 countries.

He retired from politics at the recent Federal election.

Robb said: “I look forward to bringing my extensive political and business experience to the TEN Board.

“I also hope to contribute a strong regional perspective from my years running the National Farmers’ Federation.”
