Dentsu Aegis Network media agency Carat has announced the appointment of Christine Removille as its new global president.

Removille (pictured above) joins Carat from Accenture, where she has been a senior executive for 20 years. Most recently, she launched and built Accenture Interactive in Europe and was managing director for Europe, Latin America and Africa.

Prior to her stint at Accenture, Removille began her career at Leo Burnett and Carat as a senior international account director based in the US, UK, Germany, and France.

Removille starts her formal executive responsibilities at Carat on Monday 3 September, and replaces Will Swayne, who has held the role of global president for the last three years.

Swayne has been appointed to a new global client leadership role at Carat focused on delivering integrated, digital economy solutions to clients.

Peter Huijboom, CEO media brands and global clients at Dentsu Aegis Network, said: “I am delighted that Christine is joining Dentsu Aegis Network to lead Carat, our largest media agency.

“Christine is an energetic, transformative leader and brings a wealth of experience in building media and digital services, and a deep passion for innovation and product development.

“I look forward to working with Christine as we support our clients as they continue to transform for the digital economy.”

Huijboom also praised Swayne for his efforts over the last three years.

“As global president of Carat, Will oversaw $US8 billion of net new business, retained Carat’s top RECMA qualitative ranking for the three years, and built long-term relationships with clients including General Motors, Microsoft, Kellogg’s, Diageo and Philips.

“Will is exceptional at building trusted, long-term client relationships and I look forward to working with Will in his new role.”

Commenting on her appointment, Removille said: “I am thrilled to become part of Dentsu Aegis Network to lead the next wave of transformation with Carat.

“My decision to join Dentsu Aegis Network was driven by their unique people-based data platform, the integrated operating model and completeness of marketing services.

“It is an exciting time and consulting talents combining business acumen, analytics and technology will add value in the agency landscape.”
