Troubled 2DayFM launching ad campaign

Troubled radio station 2DayFm is launching a new advertising blitz this weekend as it looks to restore its beleaguered reputation.

The new spot previewed on the stations’ website features new signings Hamish and Andy, as well as station stalwarts Kyle and Jackie O and drive presenters Jules Lund and Fifi Box.

The Southern Cross Austereo-owned station achieved international notoriety at the end of last year when a prank call to the hospital where Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton ended with the suicide of a nurse.

It led to presenters Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who were impersonating the Queen, going into hiding, an ad boycott and eventually the station donating profits from ads to the nurse’s family.

Kyle Sandilands has also had his fair share of controversy for the youth-oriented station, and has been censure by ACMA on more than one occasion.

The spot shows the presenters frolicking at a party, being pushed in the pool and posing for pictures.
