The revamped format of Nine’s The Block failed to woo a million viewers last night as Seven continues to dominate the reality television and ratings war with My Kitchen Rules.

The Block: All Stars won over an audience of 952,000 on Tuesday evening, a slight drop from Monday’s result of 959,000 viewers.

The Block did however win a top five spot within the important 16-39 and 18-49 demographics, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) maintained its position at the top of the food chain with 2.128 million viewers.

Direct competitor MasterChef: The Professionals is struggling to stay within the top 20 after only 523,000 viewers switched the channel to Ten.

MasterChef did manage to nab a top 10 spot in the 16-39 demo but sat in 13th place among the 18-49 group.

Seven’s family-focused drama Packed to the Rafters was the evening’s second most watched program.

Scheduled directly after MKR, Packed manage to keep 1.547 million tuned in. But more than half of those viewers switched of Seven at 9.30 when Parenthood started. The US drama had only 667,000 viewers in the later timeslot.

Seven also won the battle for early evening viewers with Seven News (1.199 million) narrowly beating Nine News (1.197 million).

Ten News at Five had 671,000 viewers.

Seven’s main channel claimed a 31.7% share of all free-to-air viewers, ahead of Nine’s 19% and Ten’s 11.9%.

Seven’s total share of viewers, including those watching its digital channels, was 36.1% compared to Nine’s 25.6% and Ten’s 16.6%.
