An interactive mirror that takes a shopper’s photo and shares it to social media while they’re still in-store trying to decide what to buy has been launched.
OmniMirror, which was developed by Aussie founder of Five Faces, Yazz Krishna, has been launched by ADT Security Australia in a bid to bridge the gap between bricks and mortar retailers and online shopping.
OmniMirror is an in-store digital display unit that shares photos – featuring the retailer’s branding – instantly, so customers can get quick feedback from their friends. It is currently in use in Queensland’s Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.
Michael Day, regional retail sales manager at ADT Security, said: “Consumers enjoy shopping online and thousands of Australians engage with brands through social media platforms every day. The challenge for retailers is how to connect their bricks and mortar stores with online assets that deliver marketing messages and drive sales.
“OmniMirror connects the customer’s in-store experience with the business’s overall digital marketing strategy. The system enables retailers to leverage social media to powerfully promote their products and brand.”
Krishna added: “At a time when more Australians are researching products, making purchases and engaging with brands online, OmniMirror injects some fun into the consumer’s shopping experience and connects these consumers with the retailer’s online, e-commerce and social media platforms.”
