OMD Sydney has recruited Starcom Mediavest Sydney’s creative strategy director, Barry Mowszowski, to fill the strategy group head position.
Mowszowski’s appointment is effective immediately and he will report directly into Alistair Henderson, OMD Australia’s national strategy head.
Henderson said: “Barry brings fantastic experience to OMD and extends the diversity of OMD’s strategy offering. His creative background bolsters our ability to plan brand solutions and lead communications thinking across brand and messaging in particular.”
“As we get deeper into content and consumer engagement planning for clients, his experience and approach will be invaluable.”
Mowszowski will work alongside fellow strategy group head, Melissa Mullins, who was promoted to the role in August last year.
Mowszowski has a number of awards under his belt including Cannes and Effie awards. He has also worked at Droga5 New York alongside David Droga and has experience with a number of top brands such as Coca Cola, Nike, Diageo and MTV.
He added: “I’m thrilled to join Alistair Henderson’s strategy team and the broader OMD family. OMD and its FUSE offering are a fantastic platform for communications strategies and content creation to flourish hand in hand and I’m really proud to join the agency during its evolution into a creatively inspired, media agency.”
