Nova 100 has stolen the crown as Melbourne’s most listened to FM station, adding 0.9 percentage points to its overall share.

Nova 100 now dominates 8.6% of Melbourne’s Monday to Sunday radio listeners aged 10+, according to Nielsen’s latest radio ratings survey.

Departing breakfast team Hughesy & Kate maintained the lead they won in the last survey, adding 0.6 points to reach 9%.

The station grew by the same amount in drive to take 10.5% of the listeners and is now only 0.1 points behind 3AW (10.6%).

Nova 100’s drive growth comes as Fox FM’s duo Fifi & Jules slide 1.3 points to hit 8.9%.  The drop follows a decline of 1.4 points in the previous survey.

The station is now only 0.6 points ahead of fellow Southern Cross Austereo station Triple M which has overtaken Fox FM in breakfast

Triple M continues to lead Fox in breakfast, growing its share slightly to 8.5%.

Meanwhile 3AW continues to lead with 18.7%.

In Sydney 2Day FM had the most positive result and DMG Radio Australia’s smoothfm continues to  grow.

2Day FM added 1.4 points to its overall Monday to Sunday share and now sits on 9.5%.

The station’s outgoing breakfast powerhouse the Kyle & Jackie O Show grew its share by 1.3 points to take 11.2% of breakfast. The station also grew by 0.6 points in drive to win 9.8%.

Smoothfm 95.3 grew by 0.7% in Monday to Sunday overall and took a 1.5 point leap in drive to reach 9.2%.

The young station is now hot on the heels of fellow DMG station, Nova 96.9 (9.3%).

Australian Radio Network’s WSFM continues to slide, with Jonesy & Amanda losing almost half a point to sit on 6.3%. Earlier in the year the presenters were chasing down Kyle & Jackie O.

Now ARN is in talks with Kyle Sandilands and his co-host Jackie O who announced they were leaving 2Day FM at the end of the month last week.

ARN’s other station, Mix 106.5 grew slightly in breakfast to take 4.2% and dropped by 0.6 points in drive to 5.4%.

In Adelaide there was growth for the top three FM stations with leading station, 5AA, dropping 0.4 points in Monday to Sunday.

Mix 102.3 continues to lead the market overall, sitting on 14.7%.

In Breakfast and drive the station dropped slightly to take 12.6% and 14.6% respectively. 5AA continues to lead breakfast where it sits on 14.5% after adding 0.8 points.

Brisbane’s biggest mover was Triple M  which lost 1.3 points from its Monday to Sunday share to shrink to 9%.

In the important breakfast slot the station lost 2.2 points to slide to 9.1% from its previous survey’s 11.3% result.

Over in drive B105 was the notable mover, losing 1.4 points to reduce its share to 11.8%.

Mix 94.5 was the standout in Perth steaming ahead with a 1.3 percentage point increase to lead the market overall.

In Monday to Sunday the station now leads with 13.5% as 96FM drops back to second after losing 1 point to 11.5%.

In breakfast Mix 94.5 now leads on 13.7% after adding 1.8 points to its share. The growth comes as 96FM and Nova 93.7 both lose more than one point.

The real growth for Mix 94.5 came out of drive where it jumped 2.2 points to take 13.2%.

Despite the large increase the station is still second behind Nova 93.7 on 14.6%. 92.9 also grew in drive, adding 1.1 points to take 11.6%.
