Television audiences connected with Seven’s Motorway Patrol last night where car chases and law-breaking drivers accelerated the program to the top of the non-news pile.
Only four non-news and a current affair programs broke into the top 10 with four claimed by Seven and one by the ABC.
Motorway Patrol sat in fifth and pulled in 904,000 viewers according to OzTam’s preliminary overnight metro ratings.
Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Line won seventh place and had 871,000 viewers.
Border Security was followed immediately by SCU: Serious Crash Unit which saw 828,000 viewers tune into Seven.
A repeat of QI on the ABC rounded up the entertainment shows, taking 10th place the show had an audience of 774,000.
Outside the top 10, Nine’s The Big Bang Theory had 654,000 viewers while the Mentalist was the evening’s 17th most watched show with 566,000 viewers.
Ahead of the return of Revenge on Seven the network played a Revenge Special which pulled in 634,000 viewers.
Seven dominated the news and a current affair ratings tussle with Seven News the most watched program of Monday night with 1.209 million viewers.
Seven’s Today Tonight beat competitor A Current Affair which pulled in 897,000 viewers for nine compared to Today Tonight’s 1.075 million.
Meanwhile, Nine News sat in second place overall with 1.167 million viewers while the ABC News had an audience of 924,000 and 7.30 Summer Edition had 774,000 viewers.
Ten News at Five sat in 12th place with an audience of 668,000.
Overall Seven dominated Monday night with a total free-to-air audience share of 31.6%.
Nine claimed a 25.4% share and was followed by the ABC which outperformed Ten (15.2%) with 22.5% while SBS took 5.4%.
