Southern Cross Austereo’s Sydney radio station, 2DayFM, will rebrand to 2gayFM to coincide with this weekend’s Mardi Gras.
The station said the name change is to celebrate Sydney’s annual Mardi Gras, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and to support marriage equality.
“2DayFm are strong believers of marriage equality and the station hopes to make a difference in Australia, big or small,” a statement read.
All on-air promotions, presenters and the stations’ website will be called 2gay for the day.
