Cricket Australia has confirmed its partnership with KFC has been extended until the end of the 2024-25 summer of cricket, the restaurant chain’s 21st season supporting the game.

KFC’s association with Australian Cricket is best known via its naming rights partnership with the Big Bash League.

That agreement will carry forward to the end of the KFC BBL|14 season, while KFC will also remain a partner of the Weber WBBL, Gold partner of the Men’s and Women’s International teams and the Official Restaurant of Cricket Australia and the eight Big Bash Clubs during that time.

KFC will continue to connect with Australians through a shared love of cricket, fun and food.

The iconic KFC Bucketheads will remain an integral component of the partnership as part of the at-match experience for fans at Men’s Tests and all KFC BBL matches.

A KFC flavour was added to the final stop of the BBL Trophy Tour in Canberra today. Sydney Thunder’s Alex Hales, Melbourne Stars’ Marcus Stoinis and cricket cult hero Pavel Florin addressed the media ahead of tomorrow night’s season opener at Manuka Oval.

Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia’s chief executive officer, said: “Cricket Australia is delighted to extend its relationship with KFC, which will continue into a remarkable 21st season in 2024-25.

“KFC and cricket’s pairing has become a synonymous part of the Australian summer. Together, we will continue to innovate, create brilliant experiences and bring families and friends together, whether that be in a restaurant, at the cricket or at home.

“We thank KFC for their incredible support of our national game.”

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s general manager, Big Bash Leagues, said: “The Big Bash Leagues wouldn’t be where they are today without the incredible support of KFC, the inaugural Naming Rights partner of our men’s competition.

“The KFC BBL is synonymous with the Australian summer, and a generation of cricket fans have grown up enjoying the sights and sounds of the Big Bash while wearing coloured Bucketheads and looking out for Bucketball free hits.

“Similarly, KFC’s support has been crucial to the growth of the Weber WBBL in recent years. We look forward to celebrating the best of summer and the Big Bash with the KFC over the coming seasons.”

The KFC BBL|12 season begins tomorrow, December 13, with the Sydney Thunder hosting the Melbourne Stars at Manuka Oval.

The 56 regular season games of the KFC BBL will be played across 14 venues throughout December and January, before the five match finals series culminated in the decider on February 4.

Host broadcaster Seven will show 45 KFC BBL|12 games live, with every game on Foxtel and Kayo. SEN will provide radio coverage.
