Virgin Australia has appointed Kristy Meudell as its new head of consumer PR and social. In this role, Kristy will be responsible for evolving the consumer communications strategy across earned and social channels to drive commercial outcomes for both the airline and Velocity program.
Highly regarded as a PR and Communications leader in the travel and tourism industry, Kristy has over 15 years’ experience developing integrated PR and communications strategies for some of the world’s leading destinations and events including California, Las Vegas, Rocky Mountaineer, New South Wales and Vivid Sydney.
Kristy joins Virgin Australia from her most recent role as the director – PR, influencers and visiting media at Destination NSW.
Throughout her career, Kristy has built a reputation for delivering clever and creative campaigns and activations that drive brand fame and enhance brand visibility through media and social coverage. Her leadership in fostering integrated communications strategies has led to significant results across both traditional and digital platforms.
Kristy will work closely with Virgin Australia’s marketing and communications teams, playing a key role in shaping the future of consumer engagement and solidifying Virgin Australia’s mission to be Australia’s most loved airline.
