If you weren’t aware yesterday was World Milk Day, which was started by the UN’s Food and Agriculture agency in 2001. It’s mainly a day when brands jump on the milky bandwagon, but this year the hashtag was hijacked by vegans and dairy-free brands raging about the milk industry.
According to social media analytics company Brandwatch, vegan-related tweets made up 10 per cent of all messages shared under the #WorldMilkDay hashtag. The tweets were usually graphic, so beware.
