Val Morgan & Event Cinemas Welcome Aussie As New Moonlight Cinema Presenting Partner

In a perfect pairing of an iconic Australian brand and a cinema experience that’s cemented in our summer culture, Val Morgan and EVENT Cinemas are delighted to announce Aussie as the new Presenting Partner for Moonlight Cinema.
Kicking off this November and running through to April 2021, Aussie will be part of this iconic outdoor summer experience, now in its 25th year.
After a winter spent largely indoors, Australians will soon be celebrating outdoors when Moonlight Cinema returns in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide for another summer of picnics, friends, family, and films. Set in idyllic inner-city spots, Moonlight Cinema offers a combination of picturesque parklands, star filled nights and a wide range of content from blockbusters to cult classics, ensuring an iconic summer experience.
It’s an opportunity to kick back in the outdoors with loved ones, enjoy a movie and relish in the summer vibes.
Chief Customer Officer David Smith said, “Aussie is excited to partner with Moonlight Cinema to celebrate Australians being able to get outdoors and socialise with family, friends and loved ones again. Strong family values and the importance of community has been at the heart of the Aussie brand for almost 30 years and this partnership with Moonlight Cinema – which is about bringing people together – is a great fit with our brand.”
“Val Morgan is thrilled to see Aussie come on board as Presenting Partner for Moonlight Cinema. It’s a true partnership between a well-established, trusted brand and one of Australia’s favourite cultural experiences. Moonlight Cinema is a chance to drive strong brand awareness amongst a highly engaged and attentive audience as they come together for a shared social experience under the stars and we look forward to Aussie being a part of this come summer,” said Paul MacGregor, Director of Strategy and Marketing at Val Morgan Group.
As Australia’s favourite quintessential summer activity, Moonlight Cinema allows brands to connect with more consumers for longer, boasting an average of 1.5 hours of preshow dwell time as guests arrive well before the movie to catch-up with friends and family while enjoying food and drinks.
Research from Moonlight has also shown that the outdoor cinema environment draws a highly engaged, sociable audience, with more than 40% of guests attending in groups of three or more. All of which will provide Aussie with the perfect environment to bring their well-established brand experience to life on the ground.
