Matilda fever had a resurgence last night with a total TV national reach of 1,054,000 tuning in to watch our homegrown heroes take on Brazil in a friendly international match.

The excitement was short lived however, with the Aussies quickly showing signs of a struggle against the Olympic Silver medalists.

With Brazil scoring the first of three goals just 6 minutes into the first half, viewership dropped significantly with a national average of 401,000 tuning in for the full match on Ten.

Ultimately, the Matilda’s succumbed to the other Green and Gold team 3 goals to just one scored by Caitlin Foord.

On Nine, it was an encore edition of RPA that did the numbers for a relatively quite night on television with a total TV national reach of 1,385,000 and a national average of 583,000 tuning in.
