Torrens University Australia, which is part of the world’s largest higher education organisation Laureate International Universities, has collaborated with multimedia lifestyle platform Collective Hub, founded by business leader Lisa Messenger, to launch a Graduate Certificate in Collective Entrepreneurship.

The innovative Collective Entrepreneurship one-year program, which will be delivered via Torrens’ Dynamic Online Study, is designed for entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs (those who work in an organisation and want to drive innovation and entrepreneurship internally) and change makers.

Announcing the launch of the program, Ms Linda Brown, CEO, Laureate Australia and New Zealand and President, Torrens University Australia, said: “The new Graduate Certificate in Collective Entrepreneurship offers students the opportunity to bring their business ideas to life with expert guidance from some of the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs, including Lisa Messenger.”

The program subjects, created in consultation with Lisa Messenger, include SUCCESS, RISK, RESILIENCE and ACTION. Units will be delivered by expert lecturers and guest speakers from a broad range of industries.

“Like the rest of the Laureate global network, Torrens is focussed on student outcomes. This new program, which will commence in September 2016, is not just about entrepreneurial processes, it guides students in how to have an entrepreneurial mindset,” said Brown.

“This collaboration between leading academic staff, industry experts, entrepreneurs and students combines university rigour and quality with 21st century innovation in education that recognises the changing nature of work.”

Lisa Messenger, group managing director, The Messenger Group, founder & Editor, Collective Hub and author of best-selling text Daring & Disruptive, said: “This exciting new program in Collective Entrepreneurship is designed to empower those who want to launch their own businesses, bring a business to life, create a more dynamic business environment within an existing firm and for change makers who want to explore the core pillars of entrepreneurship, particularly evaluating risk and becoming resilient.”

“It allows students to find their passion, build a business that solves a real problem, and create a network of innovative minds that they will be able turn to for collaboration and support for years to come – something that ordinarily takes a long time to develop organically.”
