Thinkerbell Turns Paperwork Into PR By Turning Koala’s Trademark Bid Into An Ad

In a clever marketing move, the furniture company Koala has actually turned a trademark application for a Bed Sofa into a full-page press ad via Thinkerbell.

It is coming to the end of the year, and usually, at this stage, it feels like everyone is out of ideas. However, Koala clearly has one more left in them and took out a full-page ad in True Local to get everyone’s attention.

The idea came after Koala launched a bed sofa, which delivers an equally comfortable experience for sleepers as it does for sitters.

Born out of Koala’s Design and product development and engineering teams and positioned as 80 per cent Bed, 80 per cent Sofa, the Bed Sofa from Koala represents a completely new category within the Australian (and global) furniture industry.

The features that differentiate the Bed Sofa centre on the bed’s unique elevated sleep from the floor, mimicking that of a real bed.

The product boasts the unique pairing of sleep experience and technology that is distinctively Koala, offering ultra-wide storage drawers, Koala exclusive stain resistant fabric and is specifically shaped for a comfortable, sideways sleep.

Naturally, Koala wanted to trademark this design and, in a clever turn of events, also decided to use its paperwork as a marketing move to drum up excitement for its new product – genius!
