Australia, get ready to turn up the heat— Cosmopolitan is bringing sexy back! Cosmo has announced the revival of their iconic centrefold, and they’re kicking things off with none other than the sensational Josh Heuston, who also stars on the cover, the first male to feature since the magazine’s epic relaunch.

Why bring the centrefold back now? Cosmopolitan Australia Editor Tess Ogle explained: “Because it’s 2024, and we’re all about celebrating empowerment, diversity, and unapologetic confidence. The modern Cosmopolitan reader isn’t just flipping through pages; she’s making waves, breaking boundaries, and owning her desires.

“Also, the one question we were asked repeatedly when we relaunched Cosmo back into Australia with overwhelming support this year was, ‘Please, tell us you’re bring back the centrefold?!’ Well, we heard loud and clear – our readers want bold, they want fresh, and they want content that speaks to the empowered woman of today. So, we’re delivering just that by reviving the centrefold in a way that feels authentic, exciting, and oh-so-Cosmo. We’re excited to make history together. Because Cosmo doesn’t just follow trends, we set them”.

And who better to launch this empowering new chapter than Josh Heuston? At 27, this Sri Lankan-Australian dynamo is more than just a pretty face. Born and raised in Sydney, Josh is a brilliant blend of brains and beauty, holding a double major in Biomolecular Science and Commerce from Macquarie University. Talk about a triple threat.

Scouted at just 18, Josh has graced campaigns for fashion powerhouses like Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Montblanc. But his talents don’t stop at modelling. He’s making serious waves in the acting world, starring in the newly-launched season of HBO’s sci-fi sensation ‘Dune: Prophecy’ as Constantine Corrino, the enigmatic illegitimate son of the Emperor.

You might also recognise him from Netflix’s hit ‘Heartbreak High’, where he flipped the script on the typical high school heartthrob, and from his role alongside Chris Hemsworth in Marvel’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’ He also snagged GQ Australia’s “Breakthrough Actor of the Year” award in 2022. Yeah, he’s kind of a big deal.

Beyond the screen and runway, Josh is a champion for good, dedicating time to support the South East Asian new arrival community in Australia. He’s the embodiment of the modern man—compassionate, ambitious, and undeniably captivating.

On how he feels to star on both the cover and as Cosmo Australia’s first centrefold, Josh Heuston said: “Growing up with two little sisters, Cosmopolitan was a magazine that was always around at home. Being asked to be on the cover of Cosmopolitan is already a huge honour but being part of the new look centrefold feature makes this moment even more special. We had so much fun collaborating on set – I’m incredibly proud to be part of the magazine’s history in such a unique way!”

“By reintroducing the centrefold, we’re not just turning pages, we’re turning heads and starting conversations. This isn’t about nostalgia – though we love that too – it’s about igniting a movement that celebrates confidence, diversity, and the multifaceted nature of attraction. It’s about showcasing men who are as dynamic and empowering as the women who read our magazine. And did we mention it’s a double-sided centrefold? That’s two steamy pics and a lot of bang for buck,” said Cosmopolitan, publisher Katarina Kroslakova.

Everyone is invited to dive into this exciting new chapter of Cosmopolitan Australia and meet the new face (and heartthrob) of Cosmopolitan Australia.

The new December/January Summer issue lands on December 2.
