Sydney Agencies Go Head-to-head In 90s Schoolyard Showdown

On October 27th, over 100 professionals from 10 Sydney agencies across the media, creative, PR and digital fields will get together to battle it out in a 90s Schoolyard Showdown – all in the name of raising money for UnLtd, the industry’s social purpose organisation.
The inaugural Agency Games event will be held in partnership with B&T and proudly supports the work UnLtd does in undoing youth disadvantage.
Each of the 10 participating agencies will field a team of staff to compete against other agencies in iconic 1990s schoolyard games including bullrush, handball, skipping, ping pong and street basketball.
Teams will be stepping back in time with 90s-inspired high-school fashion with plenty of Nirvana tees, acid-wash, fluro scrunchies and flannels on show.
Following two hours of competition on the bitumen, teams will be tested on their brainpower with a 90s pub-trivia held at a hotel in the Sydney suburb of Ultimo. At the end of the day, the winning team with the most points will be crowned 2017 Agency Games winners.
The first agencies to have signed up to the event – sponsored by Adobe – are OMD, Atomic 212°, The Royals, Adrenalin, Mindshare and Fjord.
There are strictly 10 teams able to take part in total, so it’s first come, first served. Teams must have a 50:50 split of boys and girls, and each team is requested to donate at least $1,500 to UnLtd to take part.
So, if you think your agency has what it takes, register your interest here.
UnLtd CEO Paul Fisher said: “This is another great event bringing together the media, marketing and creative industries to help children and young people at risk by supporting UnLtd, our industry’s social purpose organisation.
“What a great way to raise some much-needed funds for our charity partners while having some fun and healthy competition between agencies.”
The 90s Schoolyard Showdown is the initiative of Sydney digital agency Adrenalin.
“We see a lot of positive cross-agency collaboration on client projects, but we wanted to take that a step further with the Agency Games concept,” Adrenalin director Bernie Johnson said.
“This is a great opportunity for Sydney agencies to come together for an afternoon of fun and use their collective might to help raise funds for a fantastic charity like UnLtd.”
The inaugural Agency Games will take place in Ultimo on Friday 27 October at from 1pm to 5pm. Any agencies who think they are up to the challenge should contact hello@agencygames.com.au or visit the website.
