Splendid Promotes Mel Johnstone To Partner And Expands To The UK

Following a period of sustained growth and client wins, B2B technology marketing consultancy, Splendid Suggestions, has laid some solid foundations to support the business through the next phase of growth.

Off the back of a number of organic referrals from Australianbased clients sharing success with global counterparts, Splendid has recently appointed London-based Jess Littlewood (right, pictured)to lead the UK business and grow the new regional team.

Of the appointment, Tim Sands, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Splendid says “Jess contributes huge amounts of strategic insight and experience which is already making an impact for our UK clients. The volume of work we do in other regions, namely APAC, the US and the UK, has been increasing steadily for some time now and we are thrilled to grow our presence in the UK in this way.”

Jess brings over 20 years’ experience as a senior marketer working in both Australia and the UK. She has held strategic and consultancy roles in a range of agencies, including financial services specialist agency SpaceCX agency MercerBell and integrated agency TMW. She has extensive experience across a range of industries including technology, airlines, automotive, financial services and not-for-profit.

Of her appointment, Jess says “I’m very excited to be a part of Splendid’s international growth, especially as it’s such a pivotal time for the UK economyWorking from London during Covid-19 has had its challenges, but we’re also seeing lots of opportunities emerge for technology firms, who can play a critical role in helping businesses to get their productivity and flexibility on track.

B&T 2020 Marketer of the Year Finalist, Mel Johnstone (left, pictured), has been with Splendid since 2015. Prior to that she ran her own strategic consultancy business for 16 years, she also has extensive agency experience working with Ogilvy, Rapp and MercerBell, where she first met Jess.

Mel says “I’ve love working with the Splendid team and all our great clients who have a real determination to make a difference. I have especially enjoyed supporting them in their shift from a technology product-centric approach to one that centres around their customers’ needs, challenges and opportunities. Our business, and the projects we work on, are constantly evolving and we have grown our services to support a broad range of technology clients here in Australia, across APAC, the US and now in the UK,” she adds.

Of this appointment, Tim Sands says, “Our decision to promote Mel to Partner simply formalises the pivotal role that she has played in the growth of our business for some time. Anyone that has worked with her knows what a strategic force she is and appreciates her incredible depth of knowledge across the tech sector – she’s a rare talent. The decision to make her Partner was an easy one.”

These developments both represent a significant evolution of the Splendid business and the work that ranges from leading business and marketing strategies and go to market programs for tier one clients including Microsoft, HP and Fujitsu through to creating and implementing initiatives across the complex technology distributor and partner eco-system.
