Tim Cahill Uses Socceroo Fame To Market New Load&Go China Card

Australia’s favourite kicking kangaroo, Tim Cahill, has signed up to be the face of the new Load&Go travel card for China.

The new ‘must-have’ China travel card is on offer from Australia Post and UnionPay International, and draws on the undeniable love Aussies have for the Socceroo legend in order to market the product.

Cahill has just finished his first season with Shanghai Shenhua and is all too aware of the challenges that can arise when travelling in China.

“I love living and working in China and there is so much to explore,” he said. “But it is very important all travellers have arrangements in place to securely and easily access cash at ATMs and make payments, especially in shops, and restaurants. And that’s where Load&Go China is invaluable.”

Cahill will be spreading the word about the many benefits of the Load&Go China card in the new campaign as well as tips about travelling in China. The campaign will feature across prominent social media including YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram.

Viewers will see Timmy Cahill enjoy Peking Duck at one of his favourite Shanghai restaurants, bargain-hunt at a busy market and reveal his passion for karaoke.

“Many travellers are not aware that regular credit cards are not always widely accepted in China and I’ve had friends and family who’ve come to stay with me experience this first hand,” Cahill added.

“Load&Go China is issued through UnionPay, the most widely accepted card network in China, and is recognised and accepted across the country.”

Load&Go China is a prepaid reloadable travel card that enjoys acceptance across China, including throughout regional areas, and provides access to cash at more than 600,000 ATMs. A dual currency card offering Chinese Yuan (CNY) and Australian Dollars (AUD), currency value can be locked in before travel begins and, for extra security, cards can be registered and set up with a PIN.

Load&Go China extends Australia Post’s existing range of travel services and Load&Go travel products.

Other Load&Go China card features include a free back-up card, zero dollar commission on transfers between AUD and CNY, no card cost and no monthly or reload fees. An online portal allows cardholders to manage their card and review transactions. The card is now available from Australia Post offices or online.
