Serena Williams has more or less killed it in her latest cover shoot for Self magazine, sporting a bra-top and high-waisted bikini bottom, and talking all things tennis in an exclusive interview.
Going for her fifth gold in the Rio Olympics, the 34-year-old tennis superstar told Self all about the pressure of playing, body shamers, and why she’s finally comfortable in her own skin.
“This is my blood,” she said to SELF. “I live for this and have for the last 32 years. When I step out on the court, you’re going to get all of me.
“I love my body, and I would never change anything about it,” she said. “I’m not asking you to like my body. I’m just asking you to let me be me. Because I’m going to influence a girl who does look like me, and I want her to feel good about herself.”
It comes shortly after ESPN ran its annual Body Issue of striking naked athletes, including Chicago Red Stars Christen Press and UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
