B&T’s voting portal for the People’s Choice CMO continues to get a workout, with plenty of industry folk having their say on who they think is the best marketing boss in Australia.

And, according to the latest poll figures, there have been some major changes to the top five!

Flight Centre’s Clinton Hearne has managed to hold on to his lead in the People’s Choice CMO race, although it is a little slimmer now, with Guzman y Gomez’ Lara Thom coming from nowhere to claim second position.

Inspiration Paint’s Joel Goodsir and Medibank’s Fiona Le Brocq have both moved up the rankings by one spot to third and fourth respectively, while KFC’s Kristi Woolrych is the other fresh face in the top five.

People’s Choice CMO leaderboard

Rank Name Position title Company/brand Percentage of votes
1 Clinton Hearne Head of marketing Flight Centre Travel Group 19.28%
2 Lara Thom Chief marketing officer Guzman y Gomez 15.38%
3 Joel Goodsir Head of marketing Inspirations Paint 9.74%
4 Fiona Le Brocq Senior executive, brand and marketing Medibank 7.95%
5 Kristi Woolrych Chief marketing officer KFC South Pacific 6.76%

There is still time for this leaderboard to change, however. Those who want to have their say on who they think is the People’s Choice CMO have until Wednesday 12 May to do so.

Oh, and did we mention there’s a magnum bottle of Veuve Clicquot’s Yellow Label champagne up for grabs for those who vote?

The People’s Choice CMO is part of B&T’s inaugural CMO Power List, presented by Are Media.

Nominations have closed for the CMO Power List, so we’re now busy whittling down the nominees to 20.

The big reveal of B&T’s first CMO Power List and People’s Choice CMO will take place on Monday 28 June, and will include interviews with each of the top 20 marketing leaders who made the cut, along with the People’s Choice CMO.

Best of luck to all of the nominees!
